Don’t worry, the experimental builds are still very stable, but they will be less tested than the major releases and knowingly released with bugs! (Latest release as of site update is ) The experimental builds are currently open! They are available on my itch.io page, but it is really worth to join the Discord and the active discussion if you are playing those. Performance improvements and optimization will be focused on a later date.
As such, performance is far from fully optimized. Please also note that currently, the focus is on providing a high-quality game.
You can discuss the latest builds and see the latest development on my Discord server! Instead, you might want to try out the experimental builds or wait for the next major update, V1.0. If you find bugs in V0.3.5, please do not report them directly! Most of those bugs are known and fixed in upcoming builds. The editor allows you to place any tile, vehicle and creature, all with full control of the terrain. If you want to contribute in any way, my DMs and email are always open for suggestions. While performance and fun gameplay is the most important, all assets in the game are also supposed to be of highest quality: The models, the textures, the music, the animations… you name it, it’s probably on my list. Things that are implemented: customizable hotkeys, extensive Miner AI, Buildings, Vehicles, a Level Editor, a Power system, objectives system, a scripting system, air systems, lava erosion, landslides, spiders, Eye/Shoulder view, and an abundance of new details and animations not in the original game! If your drive was too slow or anything at all went weird, the game would hard lock or crash.Manic Miners is a free remake of Lego Rock Raiders, it’s currently in development by Baraklava. Last time I played it was on Windows XP, and it played well, but had some weird glitches due to the CD spinning down, then when the music ran out, it would have to spin the disc back up.
